Foodie Friday

Well 2019 Thanksgiving is in the books for me. I’ve enjoyed the traditional Thanksgiving meal leftovers but I am ready to move on to some different flavors. I still have turkey that my mom sent home with me and plan to make my aunts Turkey Gumbo using the leftover turkey bones, but I still have more turkey meat than I need for the gumbo. I asked my husband what he would like and he said a dip with sausage, so I came up with this easy recipe to satisfy his craving.

I was inspired by a couple of dip recipes that are family favorites – Buffalo Chicken Dip and Sausage Dip and came up with this. Both my husband and son loved it. It’s easy and a great way to use some of that leftover turkey. Hope you enjoy.

Saute the onion in some butter and brown the sausage. I added my ingredients right the in the dish I was using to bake in.

Cooking the onion and browning the sausage done, the rest is easy. Just dump the rest of the ingredients in the dish.

Stir to combine and stick in the oven. While I would have preferred to baked this dip, my husband was not willing to wait. So, I popped this in the microwave for about 10 minutes. Stirring at 5 minutes.
